OXNARD, CA - After an exhaustive search throughout North America, the Oxnard Chupacabras indoor football team is proud to announce that they have hired Frank Gonzalez as head coach for their inaugural Internet Indoor Football League season.
Gonzalez comes to the Chupacabras after accomplishing just about everything that there is to accomplish in the world of American Football in Mexico. He lead the Monterrey Institute of Technology Borregos Salvajes to eight National Student Organization of American Football championships in the last fourteen years and is widely considered the greatest coach in the history of Mexican American Football.
"We are so excited to have Frank leading the Chupacabras," said Chupacabras President and CEO Brandon Chispas at a press conference held in downtown Oxnard on Tuesday afternoon. "He is ready to take his career to a new level and learn a new style of football and we are very happy to give him the opportunity."
"We have a very large Hispanic community here in Oxnard," continued Chispas, "and we think that they will relate to Frank really well and will get behind our team in a major way. He's going to be great for us out in the community and we can't wait until he gets here."
Coach Gonzalez is currently heading up a committee to find the next Monterrey Tech head coach but will join the Chupacabras within the next two weeks before training camp starts.
